Class levels

These class levels are a guideline only—it is up to the student to decide when they are comfortable and confident enough to move up a class level.

Beginners / Bunrang: Suitable for people who have never learned, are returning to the language after many years, or have been studying for less than a year.

Beginner Online Classes / Bunrang Ar Líne: For those who can’t attend The Gaelic Club!

Intermediate / Meánrang: Suitable for people who learned as children and are returning or have been studying for more than one year.

Advanced / Ardrang: Suitable for people who have been learning for 3+ years.

Conversation Group / Comhrá: For fluent speakers who want a conversation rather than a class.

FAQ

Are there classes for children?

We do not have classes designed for children. However, children over 12 years of age accompanied by a parent or guardian are welcome.

What will I need?

Just a notebook and pen!

We use the textbook series ‘Gaeilge Gan Stró’ (Irish Without Trouble) for some lessons. You can purchase the series at the school, but you don’t need it to attend classes.

We provide online resources, including lesson notes, that you can access to help you study between classes.

Will the teachers be mean/strict/scary?
